Our Mission

The Faulkner County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is dedicated to preparing and protecting Faulkner County citizens and their property from the effects of natural, man-made, and technological disasters.

We achieve this by maintaining a strong foundation of:
Communication – Keeping the public informed through timely alerts and updates.
Cooperation – Working alongside local, state, and federal agencies to ensure coordinated response efforts.
Coordination – Organizing emergency preparedness initiatives and disaster response strategies.

Our agency operates with professionalism, fiscal responsibility, and transparency to serve the residents of Faulkner County effectively.

OEM Responsibilities

In addition to emergency management, our office handles:

🚧 Floodplain Management – Ensuring compliance with FEMA regulations. Floodplain permits are required before any development in FEMA-designated flood zones.

📍 911 Addressing – Assigning new addresses and maintaining accurate location data for emergency responders.

🗺 Plat Approvals – Reviewing and approving plats for new developments.

🛣 Road Name Approvals – Approving new road names to avoid duplication and confusion.

📖 Master Street Address Guide (MSAG) Management
OEM maintains the Master Street Address Guide (MSAG)—the official database of valid streets, thoroughfares, house numbers, and communities within Faulkner County. The MSAG ensures that:

  • Emergency responders are correctly assigned to specific addresses.
  • 911 calls are routed to the correct Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for the fastest response.
  • Accurate location data is available for dispatchers, emergency services, and local government agencies.

🚦 Road Name Signs – Coordinating the installation and maintenance of road name signage throughout the county.

🔥 Fire Services Coordination – Acting as the coordinating agency for fire services within Faulkner County.
